چکیده
The aim of this experimental study is to investigate the combustion low-calorific producer gas within porous burner. small scale downdraft biomass gasification for rural area was performed produce gaseous fuel. Three types wood in Thailand were used as raw materials gas, i.e. Acacia-mangium, White popinac and Eucalyptus. low heating values range 3800-4232 kJ.kg-1 that are difficult burn conventional Tapered bilayer burners overcome limitation. effects air preheating modes, equivalence ratio firing rate on thermal structure pollutant emission revealed. results showed complete with accomplished 2.8 – 3 kW. Both CO NOx less than 160 ppm all tests. tapered burner emitted nearly zero ratios. tar reduction 99.5% by

Performance of a pilot scale biomass gasification and producer gas combustion system using feedstock with controlled nitrogen content
This study is focused on the effects of nitrogen content in biomass feedstock on the producer gas composition and the flue gas NOx emissions from a pilot-scale gasification and combustion system. Biomass gasification has the potential to produce carbon negative energy by using renewable resources. The greenhouse gases emitted by burning fossil fuels have to be reduced, and biomass gasification ...
متن کاملSmall-Scale Gasification-Based Biomass Power Generation
Introduction Gasifying biomass to produce a combustible gas provides the possibility for much more efficient overall conversion of a given biomass resource into electric power than is possible with traditional combustion-based technologies. In particular, gasified biomass can be used to power internal combustion engines (ICEs), gas turbines, and fuel cells, all of which are able to produce elec...
متن کاملBiomass Gasification in an Air-Blown Down-Draft Gasifier: Determination of Tar Compounds from Producer Gas
The existence of tar compounds in producer gas is one of the major problems found in biomass gasification; these compounds need to be removed before the producer gas can be used. In order to predict the need for producer gas cleaning for catalytic conversion into traffic fuels and chemicals, the gas has to be accurately characterised and defined. In this study, tar compounds from producer gas o...
متن کاملThermoeconomic comparison between the performance of small-scale internal combustion engines and gas turbines integrated with a biomass gasifier
Recently, many countries have paid substantial attention to power generation from biomass gasification, particularly through small-scale plants. A number of power plant models have been suggested and analyzed; however, certainly, desirable configurations have not been identified yet. Moreover, their performances are ordinarily difficult to compare, especially owing to the fact that working ...
متن کاملKinetic Modeling of Biomass Gasification and Combustion
This review critically examines char conversion kinetics in oxidizing or reducing atmosphere. In kinetic analysis the devolatilization of biomass and the conversion of char are usually investigated by means of separate experiments, although some kinetic models are also available of biomass combustion. The large majority of the char conversion kinetics consists of a global reaction with activati...
